Readings.  Gospel: Luke 22:14 - 23:56

To Awaken, to grow, we must be fully engaged in the process of living.  It is from life that we learn to learn and learn to live again.  It is the way we go through life - dealing with others, absorbing the natural, dealing with difficulties, inebriated with beauty, burned by our excesses, addicted to one nothingness after another, open to newness - that makes us to grow into the divine. It is from life that we learn to know God and strive for holiness.
It is the choices we make every day of our lives, either to grow or to stagnate, that determine the depths of our soul.... In the choices we make that we discover what life is all about, some of it is barely bearable;  some of it is joyful where we would never have expected it to be.  And all of this is the stuff of holiness"                ...a Benedictine nun.
