Saint Cecilia Church Saint Mary Church
1st Sunday of Advent
December 3, 2006
Readings. Gospel: Luke 21:25-28, 34-36
Advent Season is our preparation for Christmas. Therefore we should be inclined to more spiritual activities than other times of the year. What is the true meaning of Christmas? Who is Jesus Christ? Where is He to be found in my life? What does incarnation have to say about life? How could God allow Himself to become man? What difference does all this make to me? Where does the Church reveal His divine presence? To make Advent meaningful, one must enter into the season.
The Jesse Tree reminds us that not everyone is as lucky as we are. Jesse is the father of King David. The most important family line in the Old Testament from which Jesus Christ, the incarnate word is of this line, who gives of Himself unreservedly.
