1st Sunday of Advent
December 3, 2006
Readings. Gospel: Luke 21:25-28, 34-36 Advent Season is our preparation for Christmas. Therefore we should be inclined to more spiritual activities than other times of the year. What is the true meaning of Christmas? Who is Jesus Christ? Where is He to be found in my life? What does incarnation have to say about life? How could God allow Himself to become man? What difference does all this make to me? Where does the Church reveal His divine presence? To make Advent meaningful, one must enter into the season. The Jesse Tree reminds us that not everyone is as lucky as we are. Jesse is the father of King David. The most important family line in the Old Testament from which Jesus Christ, the incarnate word is of this line, who gives of Himself unreservedly.

From the Pew December 8th is a Holy Day of Obligation, The Immaculate Conception. The Interfaith Thanksgiving Service has been considered a beautiful and moving event. The San Geronimo Community Center received donations as a result of this spiritual event. About 160 families were cared for this Thanksgiving, turkeys plus other food provided. 2007 Archdiocesan Annual Appeal has been approved at St. Cecilia's Church $6500.00, St. Mary's Church $3800.00. December 10th, 5 p.m., keep your calendar marked for our Parish Christmas Party. It is one ways as parishioners to begin to celebrate Christmas. Come and listen to James Slattery playing, the trumpet for our delight, or Grace Farley singing Handel's Messiah, the Alleluia. The is a family event, bring everyone except the horse. December 9th, at St. Hilary's parish, a day retreat for Marin parishes is offered. If you wish to attend, call St. Hilary's parish at (415) 435-1122
